Heirs of Elzy Bowles to M.D. Bowles; 14 Jan 1904
This indenture made and entered into this January 14th 1904 by and between Silvester Bowles and Melvina J. Bowles his wife, May Bell Glass and I.N. Glass her husband, Fannie M. Norman her husband, F. M. Bowles and Nancy Bowles his wife, and Sallie E. Shirley parties of the first part and heirs at law to the estate of Elzie M. Bowles (deceased) and M.D. Bowles party of the second part all of the County of Metcalfe and State of Kentucky "Witnesseth": That for and in consideration of the sum of one dollar cash in hand paid by the party of the second part to each one of the parties of the first part the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged and the further consideration that the party of the second part (M.D. Bowles) provided for and took good care of Elzie M. Bowles in his ripe old age until the time of his death without expense to the first named parties. Therefore we, the parties of the first part have granted bargained, sold, aliened and conveyed unto the party of the second part all our undivided interest in and to the following described tract of land which land was owned by Elzie M. Bowles at the time of his death and is more particularly described and bounded as follows (viz) Said land is situated in the County and State aforesaid on the waters of Falling Timber Creek and by meets and bounds as hereinafter given first Beginning at a stone Thence S 18 1/2 W 68 P to a stone where a sassafras is called for Thence S 31 E 26 P to a stone Thence S 3 1/4 W 43 3/5 P to a white oak Thence S 59 E 48 3/5 P to a stone Thence S 1 1/4 W 34 P to a stone Thence S 77 E 22 2/5 P to a stone Thence N 13 E 15 2/5 P to a stone Thence N 47 1/2 W 8 P to a stone Thence S 77 E 16 P to a stone Thence N 89 1/2 W 96 P to the beginning and containing 96 acres be it the same more or less and the parties of the first part covenants to and with the party of the second part to warrant the right and title to the above described tract or parcel of land free from themselves their heirs and all other persons whomsoever In testimony whereof witness the signatures of the parties of the first part this the day and date first above written.

Acknowledged by Silvester Bowles I.N. Glass and Sallie Shirley to be their act and deed and the contents having been explained to Melvina Bowles wife of Silvester Bowles and Mabel Glass wife of I.N. Glass each separate and apart from her husband they each acknowledged the same to be their act and deed this Feb. 14, 1904 also acknowledged by F.M. Bowles to be his act and deed and the contents having been explained to Nancy Bowles his wife separate and apart from her husband she thereupon acknowledged the same to be her act and deed this March 8, 1904, also acknowledged by H.T. Norman to be his act and deed and the contents having been explained to Fannie M. Norman his wife separate and apart from her husband she thereupon acknowledged the same to be her act and deed this March 8, 1904.

This deed from the heirs of Elzie Bowles to M.D. Bowles was signed and acknowledged before me on the 5th day of Oct. 1909 by R.P. Free and his wife V.O. Free to be their act and deed in due form of law. Witness my hand this the 5th day of October, 1908

I Mc D Bybee Clerk of the Metcalfe County Court certify that the foregoing deed from Silvester Bowles and others to M. D. Bowles was on the 8th day of March 1904 produced to R.W. Love an acting deputy clerk for me and acknowledged before him by Silvester Bowles and others to be their act and deed and the contents having explained to Melvina Bowles wife of Silvester and Mabel Glass wife of I.N. Glass each separate and apart from her husband they each acknowledged the same to be their act and deed this Feb 14th 1904 also acknowledged by F.M. Bowles to be his act and deed and the contents having been explained to Nancy Bowles his wife separate and apart from her husband she thereupon acknowledged the same to be her act and deed this March 8th 1904 also acknowledged by H.T. Norman to be his act and deed and the contents having been explained to Fannie M. Norman his wife separate and apart from her husband she thereupon acknowledged the same to be her act and deed this March 8th 1904.

Whereupon I have duly recorded the same and the foregoing and this my certificate in this my office this March 16th 1904.

I, Andy A. Crews, Clerk of the Metcalfe County Court, certify that the foregoing deed was this day lodged for record, and that it appears that said deed has been previously recorded in this office but that the signatures and acknowledgement of R. P. Free and V. O. Free were placed on said deed after same was recorded, and that the same with this the foregoing certificates has been duly recorded. Given under my hand, this March 10, 1939.
