These vocabulary / spelling lessons were designed originally for an English class taught by my wife.
Using Javascript code created by Jan Mulder and by the Bontrager Connection, LLC, we have ported the printed vocabulary crossword puzzles to the web page. Naturally, if you do not have Javascript turned on in your browser, you will not be able to do the puzzles online.
We also used Jan Mulder's javascipt code to create word spell and word search puzzles for the lessons. In the first you guess letters until you have correctly spelled on of the lesson words; in the second you search a seek and find puzzle for the words.
The spelling quizzes were designed on a concept and code developed by Mike Foskett. In each quiz, you are presented with the same sentences used in the puzzle, this time with the term presented like this: This is a (-p---in-) test. There is an input window where you type the correct word. After you have finished, you select the button to check the quiz. Then you are shown how you did.
The words for each lesson are available in the Words links. There you can view the words, and use links to see definitions, as well as synonyms and antonyms for them.
Have fun!
