Mrs. Nancy Elizabeth Hord, wife of J.C. Hord of Milan, died at their home Saturday afternoon, July 11, at 1:15.
Nancy Elizabeth Bowles was born at Summer Shade, Ky., on November 26, 1850. She was married to James C. Hord, October 10, 1878. To this union two daughters were born, Elizabeth Frances and Lulu Haden, the latter died at the age of three and one-half years.
The family moved to Kansas in 1894 and located on a farm four miles northeast of Milan where they lived until 1908 when they moved to Milan, where they have since made their home. Mrs. Hord became a Christian early in life and remained faithful until the end.
She is survived by her husband, daughter Elizabeth, two sisters, Mrs. Lucinda Love of Wellington, Mrs. Cordelia Beard of Wichita, other relatives and a large host of friends.
Funeral services were held at the Church of Christ in Milan, Monday afternoon with Elder H. A. Utley of Topeka officiating. Burial was in Prairie Lawn cemetery at Wellington.
