William & Frances Wilson to Elzy & Elizabeth Bowles; 8 Jan 1858
This indenture made January the 8th in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & fifty eight. This indenture was made between William K. Wilson & Frances Wilson his wife if the county of Barren and state of Kentucky of the one part and Elzy Bowles & Elizabeth his wife of the said county and state above stated of the other part, witnessth that the said William K. Wilson and Frances his wife for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred dollars the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have this day bargained & sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell and convey to said Elzy Bowles & Elizabeth his wife a certain tract or parcel of land containing forty-five acres lying and being in the county of Barren on the waters of Falling Timber & bounded as follows towit Beginning at a black oak corner to Wm. K. Wilson & E. Bowles thence S 80 W 90 poles to a rock in Wm. N. Martin's line thence with his line N 36 1/2 W 9 poles to a dogwood sasafras & hickory said Martin's corner thence N 37 E 68 poles to two dogwoods chestnut thence E 99 poles to a dogwood sasafras white oak thence S 68 poles to the beginning corner, containing 44 acres with its appertenances to have & to hold the said tract or parcel of land with its appertenances to him the said Elzy Bowles and his heirs forever, and we do further warrent & defend the right, title & interest of said tract of land to him the said Elzy Bowles his heirs, executors, administrators or assignees against the claim of ourselves and executors or administrators as from any person or persons claiming by or under them as well as against the claim or claims of all & every other manner of persons. In witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals this day & year above mentioned.
