This indenture made and entered into this 13th day of February 1857 between John Bowles of the County of Barren and state of Kentucky of the first part and William A. Bowles his son of the second part. Witnessth that for and in consideration of the sum of six hundred and ten dollars payed and secured to be payed in the following manner, five hundred and fifty three dollars and 50 cents is hereby acknowledged to be payed and one note of hand for fifth six dollars and fifty cents payable on day after date and dated this date the party of the first part hath this day sold unto the party of the second part a certain piece or parcel of land lying and being in the county and state aforesaid on the waters of Falin Timber Creek containing one hundred & twenty-two acres and bounded as follows: Begining at a red oak & 2 beeches John Evans corner thence W 72 poles to a poplar and 2 dogwoods thence S 6 1/4 W 187 poles to the original line thence with said line S 89 E 139 poles to a stake at John Evans corner thence with his line W 13 1/2 W 192 poles to the beginning to have and to hold unto the party of the second part forever. The party of the first part first part do covenant and agree to and with the party of the second part to forever warrant and defend the title to the above named land free from the claim of himself and his heirs forever but against the claim of no other person. In testimony whereof I ahve hereunto set my hand this day and date above written.

I Travis Cockrill clerk of the county court for said county certify that this deed from John Bowles to William A. Bowles was on this day proven before me by the oath of P.W. Grinstead subscribing witness thereto to be the act and deed of said John Bowles and that J.M. & H.P. Bowles the other subscribing witnesses thereto attested the same in his presence. Whereupon the same and this certificate have been recorded in my office. Given under my hand this 16th day of July 1857.
