Petree Heirs to Russel Petree

In January 1886, 3 months after John and Mary Petree's deaths, the heirs sold two tracts of land (819, 838) to Russel Petree, son of John and Mary Petree. They are marked on the diagram below.

It is noteworthy that the #838 tract was one of the two sold by John Petree to his son Charles H. Petree in 1870. Somehow that tract must have returned to John Petree's ownership in the interim.

This Indenture made this __ of January, Eighteen Hundred and Eighty Six between Susan E. Finn and Julia N. Braselton, F. C. Trippe and C. N. Petree and M. J. Edwards and A. L. Braselton and H. K. Petree and E. T. Petree heirs of John Petree and N. E. Petree, wife of W. T. Petree heir of John Petree, and J. C. Petree and Julia A. Rogers, grand children of John Petree Estate of said County and State of the one part and R. R. Petree of the county of Cobb of the other part. Witness that the said heirs ofthe said John Petree and grand children of the same for and in consideration of the sum of five hundred and twenty five dollars in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath bargained and sold and by these presents doth remise, release and forever quit claim to the said R. R. Petree, his heirs and assigns, all the rights, title, interest, claim, or demand the said heirs of John Petree and N. E. Petree wife of W. T. Petree and heir of John Petree and J. C. Petree and J. N. Rogers grand children of John Petree has or may have had in and to the said Lots of Land No. (838) Eight hundred and thirty Eight and (819) Eight hundred and nineteen in the 15th Dist and 2nd Section of the County aforesaid containing 80 acres more or less with all the rights members appretenances to the said Land in anywise belonging To have and to hold the said tract of land to the said R. R. Petree, his heirs and assigns so that neither the said heirs of John Petree and grand children nor daughter-in-law or any other person or persons claiming under these shall at any time hereafter by any ways or means have claim or demand any right title or interest in or to the aforesaid Eighty acres of land or its apprentenances or any part thereof - In testimony whereof the said heirs of John Petree and N. E. Petree, daughter in law and J. C. Petree grand children of the same hath hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals the day and year above written. Signed, sealed and delivered in presence of Rufus L. Norton, John K. Trippe, J. F. Rusels J.P.
