FUNERAL OF LATE MRS. NIDA SMITH TUESDAY A.M.
Beloved Resident Dies On Sunday Morning; Aged 91
Funeral services for the late Mrs. Nida Levere Smith, aged 91 years, who died Sunday morning at her home, 720 Farmer street, after a brief illness, will be held Tuesday morning, proceeding from the saddened home at 10 o'clock with the Rev. T. B. Grafton, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating.
Pall bearers will be: A. Hreischer, J. C. Campbell, Butler Byrd, Henry Miller, W. L. Tucker, Jr., and W. D. O'Quinn. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Smith was born in Natchez, Miss., October 11, 1847. She came to Vicksburg to make her home in 1884, and has since resided here. She was the widow of the late Alex (Harry) Smith who died in 1918.
Mrs. Smith was one of Vicksburg's oldest and most highly esteemed residents. She was well known and her host of friends will regret to learn of her passing.
Deceased is survived by one son, R. Quin Smith, Vicksburg; one daughter, Mrs. E. J. Davis, of Austin, Texas; twenty-seven grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
Fisher's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
