Dr. Frederick Lee Wilhoit and His Ancestry

Dr. Frederick Lee Wilhoit married Marguerite Eleanor "Daisy" Bellinger in Louisville KY on 25 Nov 1903.

They continued to live and work in Louisville until Dr. Wilhoit's retirement when they moved to Broward County FL.

Dr. Wilhoit was born in Greene County TN on 30 Dec 1876 to James Stephen Johnson Wilhoit and Mary Blair Wilhoit. James and Mary were first cousins, once removed. Mary was a daughter of John Wilson Wilhoit, and James was a grandson of James Wiley Wilhoit. John Wilson and James Wiley Wilhoit were twin brothers.

The twins, John and James, were sons of Samuel and Mary Elizabeth (Broyles) Wilhoit as shown on page 73 of The Germanna Record Number 13

Samuel Wilhoit was a son of Conrad and Elizabeth (Broyles) Wilhite according to the same volume (pages 54-5), and Conrad was a son of Tobias and Catherine Wilhoite (pages 49-50). Tobias was a son of Michael Wilheit, the immigrant (page 49).

If Dr. James Wilhoit died in Kentucky we have not yet found his death certificate.

Marguerite Eleanor "Daisy" Bellinger was born 10 Aug 1872 to Vincent Williamson Bellinger and Emily Virginia "Birdie" Faith. [1]

Vincent Bellinger apparently died prior to 1880. His mother-in-law, widow, and two daughters appear in that census living in Louisville.

Fred Wilhoit died in Broward County FL on 30 Dec 1958. His remains were returned to Louisville where he was buried in the Cave Hill Cemetery.
