Zachariah Shirley Wilhoite: Ancestry and Descendants

Zachariah Shirley Wilhoite was a son of William Wilhoite and Elizabeth Shirley according to The Germanna Record, Number 13, published by the Memorial Foundation of the Germanna Colonies in Virginia [2nd printing, 1982; see page 56].

The same booklet identifies William Wilhoite as a son of Tobias and Catherine Wilhoite (see pages 49-50); Tobias Wilhoite was a son of Michael Wilheit, the immigrant [page 49].

[4] "Mrs. Alice Shaw - Friends here were shocked last week to hear of the death of Mrs. Dow (Alice) Shaw at Punta Gorda, Florida. While she and Mr. Shaw were en route south, she suffered a heart attack and was hosptialized at Brooksville, Fla. About a week after arriving at Punta Gorda, she again entered a hospital where she died on Thursday, Nov. 28. Twenty-five years ago Mr. and Mrs. Shaw moved to Carrollton and have since made their home here. She was a member of First Baptist Church and a fifty-year member of the Order of Eastern Star. She was active in church work, especially in visiting the sick. She was always ready with her car to serve in time of need. Surviving with her husband, Dow, is a step-son, Cecil Shaw, of Bagdad. A brother and a sister preceded her in death. Funeral services were conducted Monday, Dec. 2, at 10:00 at the Tandy & Eckler Funeral Home by her pastor, Rev. Thomas Steele.
