Leander J. Hewett was born 8 Jul 1812 in Knox County, Maine to Waterman and Patience Keen Hewett. Little is known about him other than he was in Catahoula County, Louisiana in the 1840 census. Then he was in Natchez, Mississippi when he married Felicity Paul on 14 Jun 1841.

Gertrude died on 7 Jan 1916 in Dresden, Tennessee.

We discuss Nida Hewett on another page. The final child, Haco, is said to have been born in 1850 and died in 1851.
